i am so about to absolutely fucking faint!
i'm like shivering lah now!!
when is the 8th of feb?
is it a weekend?
have i got to take leave from school?
i can't think straight cos i'm hyperventilating!

I WANNA GO NEW YORK!!
kay i'm rereading the email and it says to advise if i'm able to travel to new york.
hmmm?!
what does that mean? do i have to email them back?
have i got to pay for my own air tix?
if i do, then it kinda defeats the purpose of winning a trip to NY rite?
maybe the prize is actually to be able to attend the fashion show.
but like that's not important to me lor.
heh.
the destination is more important.
heh.
so am i supposed to email them back or wot?

*Scream!!!!!!!!!!!!!*

to be continued...

mumble mumble

the deed's been done.
it hurts even worse than a brazilian.

he assured me that there'll be no pain during the surgery, and he was right.
the pain only hit when the anaesthetic wore off, at home.
then the ngilu2 feeling and the urge to pee started.
*insert expletives*
and so i tried to sleep it off.
*inser more expletives*

at the moment, the pain's not that intense, but the right side of the face is swollen.
horrible.
i did get to keep the offending tooth. it was horrible.
it had pieces of gum still stuck to it.
gross.

ok time for medications.
later.

wise up

Remember my wisdom tooth that's giving me alot of on-off pain but i'm too chicken to do anything about it?

It's actually given me a 3-day-long throbbing headache (from monday to wednesday) and I thought I was really gonna have a stroke on tuesday cos it was so bad.

Thing is, I'm not sure if the headache is from the tooth because the position of the pain is not at the jaw area, but the back of the right side of the head, and it feels like pressure build-up and my right eye feels like popping out. If that's what an onset of a stroke feels like, then I'm sure as hell am about to have a stroke. Just have to remind myself not to ignore any tingling sensations in my extremities.

It's worrying the shits outta me.

Anyway, I've booked an appointment with kok beng (my dentist) to remove my right lower wisdom tooth next tuesday. This will at least eliminate one cause of my headaches (if it is the tooth causing it). Besides, the gums look kinda swollen to me.

About time, scaredy cat!

Oh, and if it's not the tooth then it's only either a tension headache or a sinus headache (according to my doc lah), for which the only medication needed are painkillers. I kinda suspect she only diagnosed it as a headache cos we all know MRIs can get expensive and are only used as a last resort. say, when a patient has already suffered a stroke!

I'm just sore cos I've to spend all the money I'm trying to scrupulously save on this surgery.
Yes, yes, now we all know I'm not exactly a good saver.
tsk.
Saving for a rainy day is not just a saying after all.

fantasie

yet another one heck of a week and i'm super wuper tired.

one of the perks of the week was the opening of banquet next door. it's the smallest banquet i know, and very hongkee. er, very hongkonger (?). it's only got two stalls - one selling handmade noodles (highly recommended!) and other hongkee favourites like lotus steamed rice and baos; and another stall selling kaya toast and the standard western grub together with chinese favourites (read, xo sauce fried rice). the best part about the handmade noodles is that it's made only after you make your order. so you get to see the guy stretching and 'splitting' the dough to make noodles right in front of you. since it's very cosy, it's best not to come during the lunch and dinner periods cos it'll be super packed. only thing is, i've not seen the halal cert anywhere.

so erm ... okay, next point please ...

i'm due to play in front of class on the 20th of feb (again?). even though i've done this before like once last year, the prospect of playing in front of lotsa pple still scares the shits outta me because i've yet to decide what to play, let alone practice. it is so not cool to make mistakes or worse, forget what's about to come next. nightmare!

i've decided to be brave this year and start learning to play chopin's fantasie - impromptu no. 66. so tomorrow, i'm gonna photocopy the score. now don't start with copyright laws here. i'm a student and i can't afford to buy the book. besides i only want that piece and have no use for the rest of the pieces if i actually buy a book. besides it's not like i'm gonna make a million copies and sell them to my cronies. they've already got their own photocopy.
heehee.
will most probably chart my progress here.
see how.
if you wanna know what it sounds like, go here.
and no! i'm not gonna play this for the 20th of feb. i'll only probably be ready next year!

another perk of the week was getting to meet ms han sai por. she's so tiny and fragile-looking. kinda reminds me of my granma sans the morbid thoughts. and thanks to dr tan, i've now gotta go looking for ms han's sculptures all over the island for extra credits. now, the question is, am i music student or a fine arts student?
so i'm gonna cheat. kind souls with knowledge of where her sculptures are, please leave me a note.
danke!

retrograde series

very tired.
it's only been the first week back at school and it's damn blardy exhausting.

submitted 5 of my best lomo shots today and get to keep the supersampler!
yaye! yaye! yaye!

here are more pics, this time of shophouses in and around chinatown and li'l india. this happened last week, when i was craving for bathura only to discover that i was actually craving for another kind of fried bread - hum jin pangs! so i walked all the way from li'l india to maxwell road for the famous fry-yourself hum jin pangs.

oh yes, i'll do anything for good food.
a.n.y.t.h.i.n.g!

hello 2006

as per previous december 31s, i was already asleep when everyone else were busy ushering in the new year.

i did, however, wake up in time to hear the midday chimes.
did u?

it's sounded exactly at 12 noon, on the first day of every month. every time i hear it, i go into reflection mode and take a few minutes to reflect on events in the past month and kinda start thinking of what i've to do in the present month.

let's hope for a good year ahead, insya'Allah.

so that i can then look forward to 2007.

;o)
