fantasie

yet another one heck of a week and i'm super wuper tired.

one of the perks of the week was the opening of banquet next door. it's the smallest banquet i know, and very hongkee. er, very hongkonger (?). it's only got two stalls - one selling handmade noodles (highly recommended!) and other hongkee favourites like lotus steamed rice and baos; and another stall selling kaya toast and the standard western grub together with chinese favourites (read, xo sauce fried rice). the best part about the handmade noodles is that it's made only after you make your order. so you get to see the guy stretching and 'splitting' the dough to make noodles right in front of you. since it's very cosy, it's best not to come during the lunch and dinner periods cos it'll be super packed. only thing is, i've not seen the halal cert anywhere.

so erm ... okay, next point please ...

i'm due to play in front of class on the 20th of feb (again?). even though i've done this before like once last year, the prospect of playing in front of lotsa pple still scares the shits outta me because i've yet to decide what to play, let alone practice. it is so not cool to make mistakes or worse, forget what's about to come next. nightmare!

i've decided to be brave this year and start learning to play chopin's fantasie - impromptu no. 66. so tomorrow, i'm gonna photocopy the score. now don't start with copyright laws here. i'm a student and i can't afford to buy the book. besides i only want that piece and have no use for the rest of the pieces if i actually buy a book. besides it's not like i'm gonna make a million copies and sell them to my cronies. they've already got their own photocopy.
heehee.
will most probably chart my progress here.
see how.
if you wanna know what it sounds like, go here.
and no! i'm not gonna play this for the 20th of feb. i'll only probably be ready next year!

another perk of the week was getting to meet ms han sai por. she's so tiny and fragile-looking. kinda reminds me of my granma sans the morbid thoughts. and thanks to dr tan, i've now gotta go looking for ms han's sculptures all over the island for extra credits. now, the question is, am i music student or a fine arts student?
so i'm gonna cheat. kind souls with knowledge of where her sculptures are, please leave me a note.
danke!
